Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
The short version. Offliner computes your screen time on your iPhone and keeps it there. There is no account to create, no server holding a record of what you used and when, and nothing about your usage that anyone could buy from us. Everything below is the long version of that sentence.
1. Introduction
Offliner ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard information when you use our mobile application and this website, together referred to as the Service. By using the Service you agree to the handling of information described here.
2. Information stored on your device
The Offliner app processes and stores the following information locally on your device: screen time data accessed through Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks, app usage statistics, blocking rules and schedules, your streak and progress history, and your app preferences and settings.
This data is stored exclusively on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers. Where the app syncs between your iPhone and iPad, that sync happens through your own iCloud account under Apple's encryption, and we have no access to its contents.
Because of how Apple's Screen Time system is designed, the identifiers the app receives for your applications are opaque. We cannot read the names of the apps you use, and neither can anyone else outside your device.
3. Information you give us directly
If you email us at any of our published addresses, or send a suggestion through the form on this website, we receive whatever you chose to put in that message, including your email address. We use it to reply to you and to decide what to build next. We do not add you to a mailing list without you asking.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the Service, to respond to support requests, to detect and fix technical problems, and to improve the app on the basis of aggregate and anonymous data such as crash reports and overall feature usage counts. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not run ads.
5. What we do not collect
We do not collect the content of your messages, emails or communications. We do not collect photos, videos or files. We do not access your contacts or address book. We do not record keystrokes or your screen. We do not collect precise location data. We do not collect your browsing history or search queries. We do not receive the specific app usage details that Apple's Screen Time system keeps on your device.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, trade or rent personal information. We share information only in three narrow circumstances: with service providers who are bound by confidentiality and who process data on our behalf, where we are required to by law or where it is necessary to protect our rights, and in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case users would be given notice.
7. Third party processors
We engage a small number of third party providers to support parts of the Service. One of these is Superwall, Inc., which handles paywall presentation and subscription management. Superwall acts as a data processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement and does not sell personal information. Payments themselves are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, and we never see your card details.
8. Security
Data held on your device is protected by iOS device encryption. Any sync uses Apple's end to end encrypted iCloud infrastructure. All transmission between this website and your browser uses HTTPS. Internal access to any user data is strictly limited.
9. Your rights
You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to receive it in a portable format, to have it deleted, to opt out of optional data collection, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Because almost all of your data lives on your own device, deleting the app removes the overwhelming majority of it immediately. For anything else, write to us and we will action it.
10. Children's privacy
Offliner is intended for people aged thirteen and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Where a change is significant, we will say so in the app or by email rather than quietly editing this page.
12. Contact
Write to info@offliner.app for privacy questions, or support@offliner.app for anything else.
